“According to Barry’s Bootcamp if you do the workout four times a week you will build lean muscle mass because of the short burst of moves that are changing every 30 seconds to a minute.” Sample of a workout is:

  • Lunge and Curl with 5-10 pound weights for one minute
  • Leaping Lunges for one minute
  • Tricep Kick Backs with 5-10 pound weights 30 seconds each arm
  • Knee Drive, 30 seconds each leg
  • Squat Presses with weights for one minute
  • Plank Row with weights, one minute each arm  (This one is a challenge!)
  • Running Plank for one minute
  • Jump Squat for one minute (This one burns lots of calories.)

Kelly Ripa Voted Best Arms

From Celebrity Diet:

Straight Curl Stand holding a barbell in each hand with palms facing up. Curl barbells toward your chest and back down for one rep. Do three sets of 12 to 15 reps.

The 21s Start as the same exercise above but when you’re in the curl only curl up until arms are parallel to the ground. Do not go all the way up to the chest. Do one set of 21 reps. Then do the exercise again but start at the half-way point and curl all the way up to the chest. Do one set of 21 reps.

Triceps Kickback Holding a dumbbell in one hand, place the opposite knee on a bench. Pull the arm with the dumbbell straight back and up to your side. Then lower back to the starting position. Do three sets of 15 reps.

I’ve been avoiding homework all morning so have been trolling sites regarding celebrity weight loss, fitness, diets, etc. etc.  Came across Ok! Magazines Top 10 Bodies of 2009.  Do you agree? Who else should have been included?

  1. Britney Spears (maybe for improvement? But she’s nowhere near her I’m A Slave for You body)

  3. Megan Fox (her body is ok, her face and hair are amazing…littlel skinny though)

How Tyra Lost the Weight

Tyra Banks has noticably lost a bunch of weight.  She’s looking like her model days, which she retired from and famounsly gained weight, telling people to kiss her fat ass after a bad vacation pic popped up on the internet.  People magazine did an article on Tyra and how she lost approx. 30lbs.  Check it out here on CNN.com.

When’s The Best Time To Eat?

Q: Is it true that it’s better to eat mini-meals every few hours instead of three big meals a day?

A:  The answer to this question is that the best meal plan is the meal plan that makes you feel the best. In terms of health or weight loss or weight maintenance, there is absolutely no difference between eating the same number of calories in three meals versus every few hours — at least as far as experts can tell from research. We do know that people who are able to lose weight and keep it off tend to eat breakfast every morning. The experts judge from this data that eating two meals or less per day is probably not a good health or weight-loss strategy.Some people need to snack or they will get too hungry between meals. For others, snacking leads to overeating and grazing all day long. So whatever you decide your best meal strategy is, just be certain to eat breakfast, and make sure it is a healthy one, containing whole grains, lean protein, and fresh fruits.

Avoid the Freshman 15

I am going back to school for my second year, and either I’ll gain some weight, or lose weight with the “Med Lab Diet” – weight loss from stress and studying.

For some, like me back in my first year of university, weight gain is easy because of the drinking, the cafeteria food and we only ourselves (aka no moms) to hold us accountable for our eating habits.

Here is a good plan to avoid the “freshman 15” this year (click on the link to see the full points):

  2. Don’t overdo your dining plan
  3. Avoid peer pressure
  4. Watch the liquid calories
  5. Plan for cramming
  6. Don’t stock up on junk food
